Water recreation in Minnesota

Minnesota is famed for the range of water recreation opportunities it offers. Minnesota is well known for its innumerable number of lakes and water bodies. It is often referred to as “land of 10,000 lakes” and it is no wonder as Minnesota has 11,842 lakes that dot the state. Lake Superior is the deepest water body of the state. The River Mississippi is the major river of Minnesota along with the River Minnesota. River Mississippi is the longest river of Minnesota and is 681.3 miles in length, whereas River Minnesota is the second longest and is 370.6 miles in length.
