The area of the Twin Cities is the 15th biggest media market in the US according to the rankings of Nielsen Media Research. Other popular markets in Minnesota include Duluth-Superior, Rochester-Mason City-Austin, Fargo-Moorhead and Mankato. Television channels began in Minnesota as well as in the Upper Midwest on the 27th of April in 1948 with KSTP-TV broadcasting TV programs.
