Festivals in Minnesota

The tour of a land remains incomplete without knowing and participating in the festivities of the land. Minnesota, a beautiful state in USA replete with beguiling natural beauties and rich culture is a state of festivals too. The festivals in Minnesota give a better view on the life of people and the cultural fabric of Minnesota.

Several festivals are celebrated in Minnesota. Logging Days is a famous one-day festival of Bemidji. It is held in the Buena Vista Ski Area annually. There are blacksmith demonstrations, live musical entertainments, sleigh rides, stump and log pulling, treasure hunt, log scaling contests, lumberjack food and crafts in the festival.


Bayfront Blues Festival is a famous festival held in Duluth at Bayfront Park. Since its inception in 1989 more than 30 national performers have performed in the stages and the nightclubs.

Rochester Winterfest is a winter festival celebrated in Rochester with several adult-oriented and family friendly events like chili cookoff, polar bear plunge, ice sculpting, snow volleyball, sleigh rides, tropical melt down party and other events. This festival goes on for 10 days in the month of February.

St. Paul Winter Carnival is one of the oldest festivals of Minnesota. More than 75 events feature in this winter festival including skiing, parades, snow shoeing, snow sculpting, giant snow slide and more.

Trail of Terror is a scary Minnesota Festival held in Shakopee. This Halloween festival is celebrated in the Halloween weekend. The attractions of this festival include a slide show showing freakish and twisted pictures, Club Scream Nightclub, Haunted Hayride, Horror stories and more.

Minneapolis Aquatennial is an annual festival of Minnesota, held in Minneapolis. This festival celebrates the famous streams, rivers and lakes of Minneapolis. The time of the festival is the third week of the month of July featuring events like Target Fireworks, Subway Block Party, parades, a triathlon, a tennis invitational, beach volleyball, sand castle building and more. Milk Carton Boat Races is a unique event of this festival.
